How To Live When It Feels Like It Doesn’t Matter
1. Keep believing despite what you see, v. 17
Five mistakes they made…
a) they ignored God’s word
b) they spoke their words to one another, not to God
c) they contradicted the character of God
d) they spread their unbelief to each other and to the community
e) they failed to encourage one another to love and trust God
“I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together!”
2. Remember that God’s answer to the problem is often a person, v. 3:1
3. Remind yourself that God refines to reconcile, v. 2-4
4. We need to hold on to the fear of God, v. 5
“To be fearless means we fear God above all and all other fears must come under that primary fear. Then fear becomes a signal from your body to navigate life by rather than a trauma or a tyrant to suppress or repress you. As a result we become less afraid and more loving. Fear is an indicator to our souls that something is seeking primacy in my life that wasn’t created to be primary.”
-John Mark Comer
