A HEART TO OBEY
Acts 1:12-26
When they read this book it would have read as a list of Martyrs 1:13
Unity comes from us all seeking God, all waiting on the Holy Spirit, All on the same mission 1:14
Women have incredible value and worth to God 1:14
1 Peter 2:9
9 But you are za chosen race, aa royal bpriesthood, ca holy nation, da people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you eout of darkness into fhis marvelous light.
d. Jesus has removed every ounce of shame from your life 1:15
e. If your vision is from God it will happen. Wait on God. 1:15
f. Matthew 27:3-8 Scripture is trustworthy and reliable
g. What happened to Judas was terrible but it was God’s plan
How to make Decisions: 1:20-26
Look to Scripture. What does it say?
Use common sense
Pray. Seek God. Ask for wisdom
Trust the Lord with the final results
Philippians 1:21-23
21 For to me mto live is Christ, and to die is gain. 22 If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. 23 nI am hard pressed between the two. My desire is oto depart and be with Christ, for that is far better.
Questions:
What does it mean for us today in our American culture that this list of apostles would have read like an obituary? What is God calling us to do?
Is there any shame in your life that you are still holding onto?
Of those 4 things: Look to Scripture, Use common sense, Pray, Trust the Lord, which one of those are you lacking in the most? Why is that?
Do you find yourself wanting to and growing in your desire to obey God?
