Why You Brought Your Bible To Church Today
Acts 17:10-15

1. Be eager for the Word, v. 11.
-1 Corinthians 15:3-4
-Genesis 3:15, Genesis 12:3; 2 Samuel 7:12-13; Isaiah 53:5; Matthew 12:40

2. Examine the Word, v. 11.
a. Sufficiency
b. Necessity
c. Clarity
d. Authority

"Everything,...You see tragedies, but you also see so many beautiful things … heroic mothers, heroic men, men who have hopes and dreams, women who look to the future. That gives me a lot of hope. People want to live. People forge ahead. And people are fundamentally good. We are all fundamentally good. Yes, there are some rogues and sinners, but the heart itself is good." -Pope Francis, 60 Minutes

“We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.” - Grand Parkway Baptist Church Belief Statement

3. Be a people of the Word, 12.

4. Find Christ in the Word, 12.
-John 5:39-40; Luke 24:25-27

Mental Worship

Think about your schedule, your calendar, your social media feeds…if someone looked at those things, what would they say you are eager for?

Are you known outside of the large Sunday morning gathering? Who do you spend time with in life on life discipleship?

When was the last time you were in a daily season of examining God’s Word? What happened?

What is one thing you take away from today’s text?
