1. The foundation has a purpose, v. 24

2. The foundation has power.

What obedience can do:
a. Show evidence of our faith. 
b. Show our thankfulness. 
c. Strengthen our assurance. 
d. Edify other Christians. 
e. Adorn the teaching of the gospel. 
f. Silence foolish people. 

What obedience can not do:
a. Pardon our sin
b. Merit our eternal life
