Matthew 7:24-27

1. The foundation has a purpose, v. 24

“We believe that a Christian should live for the glory of God and the well-being of his fellow men, that his conduct should be blameless before the world, that he should be a faithful steward of his possessions and that he should seek to realize for himself and others the full stature of maturity in Christ.” -Christian Conduct, from Grand Parkway Baptist Church belief statement

2. The foundation has power.

What obedience can do:
a. Show evidence of our faith. 
b. Show our thankfulness. 
c. Strengthen our assurance. 
d. Edify other Christians. 
e. Adorn the teaching of the gospel. 
f. Silence foolish people. 

What obedience can not do:
a. Pardon our sin
b. Merit our eternal life
